Sound bars are a great way to quickly and cheaply improve the sound of your HDTV. HDTVs, especially those with slim profiles, generally have smaller and sometimes underpowered speakers. Adding a sound bar will not only match and complement the sleekness of a HDTV, but will dramatically improve sound quality and require less space than an entire surround sound system.

9. Sharp HT-SB200 sound bar
Itâs worth remembering that the Sharp HT-SB200 sounds about 100 times more exciting than any flat panel TV weâve encountered, and at this price it is never going to be a sonic world-beater anyway â for the money itâs not a bad effort. We prefer the ânormalâ sound mode â âwideâ swamps the room â but find it hard not to enjoy the party.
