Maritalia is back again, all set to recreate the magic it created with its furniture line “Stardust” in 2007. Maritalia’s new venture, designed by Mario Bellini, is called “Via Lattea”- a range of padded furniture that looks like a collection of homemade marshmallows. The furniture line was unveiled at the Milan Furniture Fair.
The furniture line is made from air ravioli obtained from the packaging sector, stainless steel mesh obtained from the industrial filters and the recycled fiber sacks previously used to transport grain, stones, and sugar.
Low wattage lights placed inside the furniture pieces emit radiance.
The furniture line consists of fascinating glowing chairs and air-filled sacs. It is an unusual and remarkable change from the traditional padded furniture and a note worthy improvement from your blow-up chairs. The furniture retains its shape with the help of the steel mesh. It is as light as chair, so if you have a habit of re-setting your home time and again then this is an ideal piece of furniture for you. It looks like a normal sofa in the daylight, but when it gets dark, this sofa creates an amazing effect in your living room by emitting radiance.
Moreover, if you are afraid of the dark, this furniture line is ideal for your home décor. The furniture line features a special version for children.
Sharp projects should be kept away from these furniture pieces.
Apart from this, I don’t see any limitation in the furniture line. It is low-cost, easy to maintain and a different furniture concept. You can place it not only inside your homes, but also in your garden or by the swimming pool.
