UN fashion show to highlight biodiversity loss

fashion summit

The UN fashion show will see top designers highlighting the world’s biodiversity loss, encouraging the world to save our planet. Big names like Diane von Furstenberg and John Rocha are on the list, who will appeal against the loss of biodiversity. The European headquarters of the United Nations will be filled with more than 500 prominent figures from government, international organizations and the fashion and cosmetics industries.

The seminar and exhibition to be held in Geneva on January 20-21 will highlight issues like the increase of eco-fashion and luxury brands as role models on sustainability. The event will close with models walking the runway with green clothes to appeal against the loss of biodiversity. As 2010 has been named the International Year of Biodiversity, we hope to see scientists bring to light the problem of the declining number of species and ecosystems in the next few months.
