Summer florals

Flowers are an all time favorite when it comes to printing a specific design on clothes. History speaks for itself, with the huge number of floral prints that can be viewed throughout the age old times. Ever since the advent of designs, flowers have been the symbol of status in numerous cultures.

Florals are back in vogue this spring-summer in fashion. Not just garden variety prints, this season’s florals burst into 3D life, taking shape via embroidery and embellishment at Dolce & Gabbana, Simone Rocha, Moschino and  Erdem.

“Flowers grew everywhere throughout the collections, becoming the ultimate badge of spring/summer femininity. Think Sixties style daisies, meadow poppies and luscious roses,” explains Jessica Bumpus, Vogue.co.uk fashion features editor.

Be in the trend of the season with floral prints and designs this season. Here are a few simple methods to do this.

Use roses to convey the perfect air of romance. Romance and love has been associated with roses since eternity, so here is your chance to do the same. You could also use floral prints on clothing to convey the happy-go-lucky mood that you may be in. They are just perfect for that occasion.

You could also go the maxi way and use a floral printed mxi to be the trend setter within your little community.

However, that would be playing it safe, so to say. Experiment with a little of grace and a little risqué. Match floral dresses with light colored pants to be one with the light breezy summer. Complete the look with some shades and a perfectly matching floral printed shoes. That is just what you will call touching divinity.

You can choose Chanel and Giambattista Valli for the most elegant summer soirees, where  accessorizing with a court shoe and a clutch will suffice You could also always opt for a full Sixties flower-power styled with a beehive hairstyle, retro sunglasses and a colored lip  at Moschino and Holly Fulton.

Christian Dior went the feminine way, tapping into their age old resources for  lesson or two from history. Oversized 1950s ball gown skirts garnished with iridescent rose motifs were teamed with streamlined tops that resembled body armor, edging out the prettiness of the prints. On the other hand the fashionista’s label of the moment, Issa had everything going for it in order to convey that summer look, a touch of the tropics you could say. All it did was successful in rendering the summer heat, the florals, a complete beach party on fabric.
