Visitors at the World Economic forum held in Davos, Switzerland in January this year were awestruck by this magnificent piece of art by Red Hong Yi. She used twenty thousand stained tea bags to make this artwork. The artwork showcases the Teh Tarik (“pulled tea”) man, a common sight in Malaysia of a man pouring tea between containers to prepare sweet and frothy tea. Red Hong Yi is well known for her unusual artwork like the superbowl project she did a little while ago.

Drinking straw Art

Another common and interesting material used for artwork is the drinking Straw. The Nestea Drinking Straw Sculpture by Publicis Argentina is a new form of commercial art gaining popularity. A chair and an ottoman made of plastic drinking straws by Promise Design are not only stable but also comfortable pieces of furniture too. Its inspiration was taken from brooms made of natural straw.

1000 & 1 straw light, as the name suggests, is made of 1000 plastic drinking straws. This piece of art is designed by Inna Alesina by using an empty upside-down soda bottle and arranging these plastic tubes around them.

The sculptures by Bruno Torfs are no less than creations by divine inspiration. Bruno’s Art and Sculpture Garden is located in a small village called Marysville in the state of Victoria, Australia. This art gallery has more than 200 pieces of art including Sculptures made of wood and terracotta, paintings and sketches.

Tourists and art lovers from all over the world are mesmerized by the magical creatures sculpted by Bruno. This gallery was destroyed by a fire in 2009 but was restored by the efforts of art lovers and Bruno. In November 2011, it was reopened for the art lovers from around the world. Bruno’s Art and Sculpture Garden has become one of the biggest tourist attractions in Victoria, Australia.

She uses hundreds of pencils, cuts them into one-inch pieces, drills a hole into them, sharpens them and sews them together. The resulting art is unique and attractive at the same time.
