The panels incorporated by the truck come from a Japanese company and are one-eighth the width of conventional panels. The power generated by these lightweight solar panels is stored in batteries and can be utilized when the sky is flooded with clouds. The manufacturer of this solar powered truck claims that over 1.5 million tons of carbon dioxide can be cut if 1.4 million trucks use solar panels. The mass production is expected to start within a period of three years.
