Grammy-winning singer Sheryl Crow has hit the road for a 11-stop colleage tour, championing the cause of awareness about global warming.
The popular singer is accompanied by producer Laurie David, whose ‘An Inconvenient Truth,’ a film on climate change has won the Oscar for best documentary this year and the duo are travelling in a bus run by biodiesel fuel.
The ‘Stop Global Warming College Tour’ kicked off at Southern Methodist University in Dallas on Monday and would culminate at the George Washington University in Washington on April 22, which is the Earth Day.
In each of the stops, Crow would come up with a brief performance, while David would deliver brief speech. Clips from ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ would also be shown before interacting with the students, according to Crow’s Web site.
Crow is excited that she would be doing something worthwhile and the 45-year-old singer said,
The more I learn about global warming, the more I know that we all have to do something to be a part of the solution. I am thrilled Laurie and I have the opportunity to go on the road and combine our efforts to educate the next generation on how they can make a difference.
