Remains of rare wild animals found in Chinese apartment

After all publicity and advertisements to save wildlife and endangered species, there are questions whether the term public awareness will elude forever. We have seen devastating reduction in the endangered species count all over the world. There are strict rules and regulations to have a grip over the matter, but the basic achievement is still far from reality. We are not serious enough to help these species survive. In recent days, a seize in Linxia in the central province of Gansu, China has proven the fact once again.

Chinese police has seized about 104 furs of rare wild animals like bears, snow leopards, clouded leopards and lynxes, piled up in an apartment. Bones of exotic animals are in high demand in China for their medical values. Whatever be the motive of this poaching, police is suspecting some international linkups with this racket.

According to a local news agency:

The tenant had been buying the furs and bones from Qinghai and Tibet since last November and made a profit of 4,000 yuan ($520) by selling two snow leopard furs

The entire situation is quite disturbing. Such a huge pile of animal remains, and sadly, the authority has wakened up now, when the entire damage is done. The endangered species are not safe yet. There are poachers loosely operating all over the world. They use channels to send their kill to proper markets. This is only one incident that has been exposed. There are numerous more such persons living in our society, within our constant vigil, and they are doing these kinds of things quite uninterruptedly.

Perhaps, the time has come to take some more social responsibility. Animals need to live for themselves and for our benefits also. Without wildlife, the entire eco system will face extinction. The time has come to set an example by punishing the involved persons with the most ruthless verdict.
