This mini panel weighing 230g comes in two variants; one comes with a single solar panel, while the other includes two solar panels. The panels are built into a case that can be placed in the sun or hung in a window and are then connected to the smaller Lithium-ion battery-based “mobile booster,” which acts as a reservoir and charges up from the panels.

The booster needs 38 hours to charge completely in case of the twin-panel model and takes double that time for the one with a single panel. On being fully charged, it can supply 5 volts at 500mA for 2 hours, which is enough to power a cellphone for 20 minutes of talk with the single panel model and double that with the twin model. Both of them will be available in the Japanese market on August 10. The single panel model will cost about ¥9,000 while for the twin-panel model you will have to part with ¥14,000.
