Living on a Jet Plane
JoAnn Ussery is a hairstylist who lost her house in a storm and then thought of this unique concept of living on a jet plane. She actually purchased a discarded 727 plane from Continental Airlines and turned it into a beautifully decorated home. The plane was moved to her location where she redecorated its interiors in such a way that it now offers all the comforts of a home.
Magic Bus runs on vegetable oil
Dave Weaver, who used to live in Washington, managed to get an old school bus and relocated it to his new place. With a friend’s help, he then built this beautiful and colorful house out of it. Dave’s house is equipped with a wood stove and has a sun deck too. His Magic Bus house was then made to run on vegetable oil so its carbon footprint could be reduced. This amazing movable house is now parked in a backyard.
Habitat Car Micro-home
Designer Jon Salerno has created this environmentally friendly home. Called Habitat, this micro-home has a compact living space and a parking for a car underneath the house itself. The home is not only compact, but also comfortable to provide all essential features of a house. Made from recycled vehicles, this home accommodates a kitchen, dining area, bed, store, and some shelves. The room occupies an area of 100 square feet, including the underneath parking space. The green fact about this beautiful home and the car is that both these run on sunlight and wind power.
Train Car Home
You would be amazed to see this deluxe apartment made out of a sleeper rail car. Placed in Portland, Oregon, this facility may look very ordinary to you, but it is unbelievable when you go inside. Ranging from a full electric kitchen and quality bedding to an incinerator toilet, this home has everything to make it luxurious. You can also find enclosures in the house.
Hummer Haus
Two Los Angeles designers, HsinMing Fung and Craig Hodgetts, used a phased-out Hummer SUV to build a marvelous house for themselves. They used the body of eight Hummer trucks to create this prefabricated home. There is ample space in the house for various electrical systems. The house has been made more sustainable using geothermal storage tanks and photovoltaic cells. Any single family can easily stay in this accommodation, while it can also be used as an art studio or office.
