Though the era when the first human existed may kick up controversy among scientists and archaeologists, here is a brand new amazing evidence to bolster towards claims for it.

The oldest human footprint – what it could be in history, has been found in the western desert of Egypt. It is while exploring a prehistoric site in Siwa — a desert oasis — archaeologists happened to discover the ancient footprint on mud, which later eventually hardened into rock.

Excited about the find, Zahi Hawass, the secretary general of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities told Reuters,

This could go back about two million years. It could be the most important discovery in Egypt.

Scientists are still up with arms to determine the footprint’s exact age using carbon tests on plants that are found in the rock. But again, based on the rock-age where the footprint was found, the period of the new footprint could even date back further than the renowned 3-million year-old fossil of ‘Lucy‘ — the partial skeleton of an ape-man.

If that is the case, the find would definitely be an important achievement for the archaeologists – after all, its human footprint and that too the oldest.
