Dubai covered in Fog – A rare event, rarer images!

Dubai covered in Fog

<![CDATA[Known for its scintillating deserts, its exquisite culture, its architectural marvels and its stunning cityscape, Dubai is inarguably one of the finest tourist destinations! The otherwise desert city is one of the most advanced among its peers with breathtaking architecture, highways, roads, marketplaces, hotels etc. It, therefore, attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world, thereby collecting huge revenue from tourism as well. However, the people walking at the base of the gigantic buildings get a bottom up perspective! Dubai has wonders in store when viewed from angles that are radically different and exciting.

The view from eighty-fifth floor of the Princess Tower in Dubai Marina can trigger your craziness. This is a view that is nothing less than watching the earth through the heaven itself. German photographer Sebastian Opitz has captured this mesmerizing beauty in his DSLR lens that will make anyone’s jaw drop.

The skyscrapers raise their head up through the mist and fog shrouding the morning sky and giving a feel of snow clad mountain or oceanfront. A colorful vista that is no less than the aurora effect of the North, the lights from the monuments reflect upon the cloud to give a surreal effect. The 2,722-foot tall Burj Khalifa especially stays above the clouds for longer time thanks for being the tallest building on the planet.

Opitz shares that the trick is to get up as early as 9 A.M. If it gets late, the fog gets evaporated and a potentially perfect timing gets ruined. Photography requires immense hard work and a share of good fortune. Being on the top of the world can itself be extremely rejuvenating. One may have to carry the camera gear every morning until that perfect shot is captured that is worth dying for.

The photographer uses Nikon’s high end cameras like D7000 or D800 to get pictures with larger aperture to achieve the wave effect. Keeping the lens open for extended time, photographs that resemble the skyscrapers sticking out of streams of cloudy waterfall could be created.

The photographer expresses his disappointment regarding a certain experience though. He was constantly being told that practicing professional photography is prohibited. That not only dampens the mood of the cameraman but also reflects upon curbing down creative spirit. Despite this, the attempt by Sebastian Opitz is worth a huge round of applause.

The Dubai phased photographer also has his own pages on Facebook and Twitter. His rendition of Dubai through the angled frames and prime lenses makes his images stand out in the crowd. He also shares his experiences on his official website where you can see more of his stunning marvelous photographs. Yahoo News has published the brilliant photographs for public viewing. Those interested to go for a business or holiday tour in Dubai will regret not experiencing what Sebastian has shown to the world. (Image Source)]]>
