The soul of Stephen Robert “Steve” Irwin, popularly know as ‘The Crocodile Hunter’, must be giving million of thanks to Chinese police who saved lives of 270 crocodiles. From the southwestern region of Guangxi, bordering Vietnam, police confiscated bags containing crocodiles; these crocodiles were destined to leather factories where they are used to make items like handbags and shoes from their skins.
Chinese police was also aware about leather factories that use crocodile skin to make handbags and shoes. China has framed rules to protect endangered animals and plants listed by Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, or CITES.
But growing popularity of the products made from the body parts of endangered animals such as skins, ivory is causing people in different parts of worlds to kill these animals and make a profitable business from that.
