Whenever we think of Disneyland theme parks, a thousand thoughts of delight, excitement and fanaticism cross our minds. Thinking along environmentally friendly lines, Disneyland’s hometown is soon going to build an all-new eco-friendly rail station in Anaheim, CA, which will eventually connect with Disneyland theme parks. The construction headed under a project named ARTIC (Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center) will lead to eco-friendly transportation and alternative energy options.
The high-speed rail station will be constructed using EFTE membrane, which is capable of controlling natural lighting by expanding and contracting, hence preserving some energy. The building designed by HOK, a well-known name in energy saving designs, will also be equipped with photovoltaics and hot water heating cells. The construction of the rail station is expected to initiate early next year and the estimated cost for its completion is said to be around $180 million.
