7 Solutions to rude tween behavior

Rude behavior of tweens is a matter of concern for many parents these days. As per the health experts and psychologists, this is something which should be immediately taken care of otherwise it may bring you to a state where you would find yourself hapless to do anything. Most of the experts believe that this is the time when the parents need to take care of their child in a careful way. Since the problem is psychological, rather than being one from the physical domain, this needs to be taken care of with some psychological methods too.

Here are some tips to deal with a tween’s rude attitude:

1. Do not be so flexible everytime

This is the age of your child at which he needs to be looked after with some strictness too. It would not be good to be so flexible with him and to fulfill all his desires. This would rather make the situation worst. If you show some flexibility toward the tween, he would think the world to be like that just wish, show ignorance, and anger and fulfill your wishes. You would never want your kid to be like that. For this treat him with some harshness and do not accept all his demands except those necessary and genuine.

2. Make some guide lines

Make some rules and explain your child that to live in the society in a better way, he would have to follow some rules. Explain him that you also did the same when you were of his age. Try to make a transparent picture with some logic. Convince on the things you think would be right for him in future. Since it is a growing age of the tween and he would certainly start understanding this world in his own way, try to mold him with prudence, and scientific logic.

3. Do give minor punishments

Though it would not be easy for you to punish your lovely tween, but you will have to take this step for his benefit. Create an environment which may show him that good things are rewarded, while the wrong doings may lead to some punishments. Once he starts differentiating between good and bad, he will not show unnecessary arrogance. Also, teach him that arrogance is the biggest and worst enemy of any person.

4. Respect him when he respects you

Explain the importance of respect in one’s life. Teach that one can get respect only when he gives respect to others. Also, tell him that the best thing that anyone can get from others is respect. Make him familiar with the fact that showing arrogance is nothing but showing disrespect.

5. Have a discussion

Being harsh every time will not do. Initiate some words with him, mainly when both of you are alone. No need to involve any third person in your conversation. By this way, you will show him that he is always important to you.

6. Be open

Do not hesitate to offer him/her anything when he needs. Remember when someone is offered help and care after being scolded he feels comfortable. You have to apply the same rule with your tween also. This way, he will realize that whatever you do for him, is just for his good. This will create a psychological impact and make him down to earth.

7. Be patient

When your tween becomes violent sometimes, just do nothing and stay calm. Let him express all his angre. After he gets over, discuss the problem with him. Never forget that you do not have to have a fight with him, while you have to fix the things.
