Draco, Athenian lawmaker did not know that the love and affection of his supporters would eventually suffocate him to death. The credit to replace oral law and blood feud with written rules, which were to be implemented by court, goes to Draco. He was the first legislator of Athens who made laws that were unforgiving and cruel.

Draco made laws that would pave the way for the first written constitution to Athens. The rules and regulation were harsh. After all, who could imagine a death penalty for stealing a cabbage or slavery for not paying off your loan? Draco’s death was also as ruthless as his laws were. The occasion was a traditional ancient Greek show, where his supporters showered him with their hats, clocks and shirts that suffocated him to death.

The demise of Aeschylus, the father of tragedy itself was tragic. Aeschylus was an ancient Greek author of tragedies whose work gave a new direction to authors. Something that is strange is the fact that Aeschylus preferred to stay outside as it was prophesied that a falling object would take his life. Quite interestingly, he died as an eagle dropped a turtle right on his bald head, as it took it for a rock that could break the shell of the reptile. Who knew death could be so certain?
When self-appraisal or confidence breaches its boundary – Mithridates

Mithridates was a young Persian soldier who killed Cyrus the younger, a rebel claimant of throne. The feat got Mithridates numerous rewards and praise of the King Artaxerxes. When the king invited him to attend a fest, he put on a magnificent dress and went there. Unfortunately, he started boasting his achievements, which took him towards his unfortunate death. Under the influence of alcohol, he could not realize that he had snubbed King Artaxerxes who gave him a terrible death in return. He was tortured for seventeen days until he died.
Desire to live forever brought his death really close – Qin Shi Huang

The King of the state of Qin, Qin Shi Huang ruled and conquered South China in 221 BC. He is known for expanding the area of Chinese state and for building a life-sized Terracotta Army, which is a collection of terracotta sculptures portraying the armies of the real army of King Qin Shi Huang. King Qin Shi Huang was father of almost 50 children. With an inner most desire to be immortal he swallowed a few pills of mercury made by his court physicians and died. The desire to be immortal brought him close to his demise.

A lawyer by profession James Otis, Jr. always used to share his inner most desire with his friends, which was quite strange. He wanted that a bolt of lightning must be the reason of his death and it just so happened. He died at the age of 58 and that too the exact way he wished to die. A flash of light took his life. A bolt of lightning struck him when he was standing at the doorway of a friend’s house.
