Sonoma Diet

Sonoma Diet follows the principle of eating the right amount of foods from the right type of food categories. The diet has another basic principle which demands an individual to avoid high saturated fat-containing foods and products that contain excessive white flour or sugar.

The diet is based on 10 power foods. You can choose meals which are made from virgin olive oil, spinach, whole grains, almonds, broccoli, grapes, strawberries, bell peppers, blueberries, and tomatoes.

Extra Virgin Oil – It contains antioxidants that support blood vessels and reduces inflammation. It also contains essential vitamins and minerals such as folate, vitamin K and iron.

Blueberries It is a low GI food which is rich in vitamin C, manganese and dietary fiber. Blueberries act as anti-cancer food and have numerous health benefits.

Grapes  These contain a lot of antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins. You may have blueberries in the form of salads, juices, or plain.

Strawberries  They contain 7 % protein and 8% fat. It is a good ratio for the human body.

Tomatoes are highly beneficial for the human body. Tomatoes produce blood cells and contain a high amount of antioxidants.

During phase 1 of the Sonoma Diet, you are allowed to have 2 servings of fruits per day. Except for strawberries, blueberries, and grapes you can go for banana, nectarine, jujube, and jackfruit. Low carb veggies are also good to consume in the first phase.

Whole wheat bread, cereal and brown rice improve metabolism and reduce the risk of developing cancer. During the second phase, dieters can go for exotic fruits and vegetables. You may opt for refined products in this phase. The second phase allows you to enjoy a wide range of foods.

You are allowed to eat eggs, meat and soy during this phase in moderate quantity. Don’t have extra breading in the meals you consume. Choose poultry, cuts of beef and pork to prepare healthy meals. You can enjoy seafood as well to gain protein. Lean white meat such as chicken and turkey should be given priority.

The diet allows you to eat from huge variety of foods which helps you avoid starvation. Sonoma Diet is effective in producing weight loss results.
