Huge funds invested, in the US National Cancer Institute, for the search for common genes linked to cancer. According to the statisticians, it is unlikely to be successful.
It is being said that there is less possibility of existence of such genes or if they do, the idea of its effect on cancer is vague till now.
The research related to both identical and non-identical twins, exposed only a modest contribution to the incidence of cancer. This makes this research doubtful as well.
The researchers mentioned that if cancer vulnerability genes would be identified, presentation of clinical benefit will be difficult. And large experimentations will be needed in future.
