A new finding by the scientists at Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute claims that they have found out a particular enzyme that can prove helpful for thousands of patients with cancer. This particular type of enzyme is called – sphingosine phosphate lyase (SPL), which researchers believe can regular the growth of the cells and can even destroy them by lowering the levels of a natural, growth-promoting lipid, known as sphingosine-1-phosphate, also called S1P.
I think this new finding is very significant because this opens doors of hope for patients with cancer.
