Is fresh Mac salad actually fresh? Ask parentsjury

Mc Donald’s or often known as Micky D’s is one of the largest American food chains. They have everything from Salads to burgers and to chickens. After winning the Parent’s jury for the third year in a row, Mc Donald’s chain is pretty psyched about their healthy salad advertisement. The Fresh salads written in green on billboards seem to be working after all.

For the third time running, the fast food chain has won the Pester Power Ad award. Although, parents and other people are not very excited.

The message is loud and clear. Parents are fed up having to contend with McDonald’s enticing their children to want its food by using free toy giveaways. Parents have enough pressures to deal with these days without this kind of manipulation

Well, what gets the Micky D’s this reputation? The answer is advertisement. Clever ads made Mc Donald’s a third time winner for the parents jury award. Also, including a toy along with the food packaging for the kids earned this fast food giant the reputation. But, the happy meal only comes with a toy and not the fresh salads. The parents are clearly not that excited to feed their children junk food although Mc Donald’s claims to have the best salad.

I am sure this line of advertisement is applicable to other food chains as well. Prof.Swinburn agrees that food and beverage companies often use rhetoric that makes the product sound better than they are. The so called smoke and mirrors marketing technique works most of the time. Although, parents are highly concerned about the actual food quality.
