Cholesterol-lowering drug statins prevent heart attacks, but only when taken persistently. Dutch researchers have come up divulging this fact. Through this study, researchers further uncovered the fact that approximately 9,000 European and about 7,000 Americans who were using stains died just because they were not taking these medicines regularly.
In Western countries, the percentage of heart disease is quite high due to high cholesterol, smoking, diabetes and high blood pressure but taking drug statins help lowering heart attack chances but unfortunately due to lack of persistence in taking statins, the death cases are continuously mounting. Therefore, it is quite important for heart patients to take statins on regular basis.
