Herbal Remedies to Deal With the Strong Summer Sun

Overexposure to sun causes sunburns, tan and rashes. If it gets serious then it might result in serious irritation to the skin. Applying chemical lotions or taking pills to get rid of the skin irritation is a common physician’s remedy. However, you can cure skin problems like sunburn by using natural and easy remedies available easily in the local market.

Adding baking soda/ oatmeal to your bucket of water while bathing

Baking soda is good for the skin. A few drops adding to the cool water can be soothing to the skin exposed to sun. Let the baking soda mix in the water for a few minutes. Care should be taken that the baking soda is not rubbed off your body after taking bath. Let it air dry.

Another ingredient that can help fight skin problems is oatmeal. Adding half to 1 cup of oatmeal in water can be an effective in soothing the skin. Air dry after having bath, similar to the process mentioned above.

Aloe vera gels reduces redness or stings caused due to sunburn. It can be applied pure or mixed with water. Many lotions or skin creams too comprise of aloe vera. The aloe vera liquid causes tightening of the blood vessels. You can nurture an aloe vera plant at home too.

Simple pluck a small part of the leaf, split is open and applies the gel type liquid present inside the leaf. Since it is natural, you can apply it several times a day.

You can spend some time soaking in the cool water tub after a tiring day outside. You can add some aromatic organic gels to the water. However, keep away from soaps or other chemicals that might aggravate the affected skin. Adding oils or extracts, such as lavender and rose can also help heal the skin.
