A drug has reported to reduce a common form of leukemia to a chronic illness. It is dealt with just a single pill. A new study has showed that the drug ‘Glivec’ has helped almost ninety per cent of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). They are living well after five years.
The medical experts have termed the result as awe-inspiring. While the drug does not cure but keep under control the leukemia. Earlier CML patients had a life expectancy of four to six years. Now the new drug has proved as a wonder drug for the patients of CML.
