eating leafy green vegetables

It is difficult to eat vegetables after being diagnosed with gastroparesis. However, vegetables contain essential nutrients so it is important to include them in your diet.

Gastroparesis Diet allows you to eat vegetables that are comfortable and safe to eat in order to gain required level of nutrition. Here are 2 essential tips that will help you get on with Gastroparesis Diet in a comfortable manner.

Tip #1

When you are not able to eat most of the regular foods, the best option is to eat baby food. It is easy to digest for the human body and contains enough nutrition. Don’t go for readymade baby food. Prepare your baby food at home.

All you need to do is to use the blender to make vegetables purees. Use mesh strainer and rubber spatula in order to strain purees. It is preferred to buy a powerful blender as it will make your purees smooth, silky and easier to digest.

Peel off the vegetables that are rich in fiber content such as sweet potatoes. Steam or boil the veggies until they become tender. Allow the vegetables to cool and blend them later on. You may add as much water as you like. Lastly, pass the puree through mesh strainer to get the final meal.

Lemon juice and sea salt can be added to enhance the flavor. You may refrigerate the puree by putting a lid to the containers. You may use peeled sweet potatoes, de-stemmed mushrooms, peeled broccoli, peeled squash, peeled carrots and peeled asparagus to prepare the meals.

Tip #2

You may need to have a good juicer when you are on a Gastroparesis Diet. Juicing fresh vegetables and fruits is a good option. By consuming fresh juice daily, you will be able to reduce the symptoms of gastroparesis rapidly. Pass the juice through mesh strainer to get rid of any remaining fiber content.

Peel and wash vegetables before making the juice. Celery, beets, cucumber and carrots can be used to prepare the juice.
