A machinery was artificially keeping the 38-year-old woman alive till the child’s birth. A few hours after the birth on Saturday, the machinery was shut off.
The baby is named after her mother Cristina, by emergency Caesarian section. Weighing just over 1.5 pounds, the doctors informed that she was breathing on her own Sunday.
To protect the family’s privacy, the woman’s last name was not released.
