Sony enjoyed an unparalleled success with its Cyber-shot and Walkman series phones prior to the entry of Android phones in the market. Its Xperia series has been doing fairly well and the head-honchos at Sony think that they need to leverage the past success of these brands.
Xperia Cyber-shot: Rumor and inspiration
The idea is to bring all the in-house technologies of Sony together to give a device that has it all. The rumor is that Sony will be introducing three new phones later this year under these brands. One would be 5-inch Xperia Cyber-shot that would stand out as a camera phone with a sensor size of Nokia PureView 808 and Carl Zeiss optics, though it is expected to be much slimmer than its Nokia counterpart.
Xperia Walkman: The next entrant, competitors
Second one will be Xperia Walkman series phone, which is expected to board an integrated amplifier chip to enhance the quality of sound. This sounds something on the lines of HTC’s Beat and would give Sony an edge as its Walkman series is much regarded. The last one is expected to compete with iPhone, which means this might board the One Sony sign bringing together the best features Sony has to offer. It will inherit most of its features from Xperia series and is expected to be much slimmer and compact than its predecessors.
And that’s not all since Sony plans to unveil a whole lot of unique cellphones this year. With Xperia A, UL and Toogari phablet, Sony seems to have upped the ante in its endeavour to become the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world after Apple and Samsung.
