Venetian artist builds a house where everything is made of wood

Wood has been the favorite material for 69-year-old Venetian artist Livio De Marchi whose works have been admired across the globe.  His Gallery in Venice, where you can find detailed, life-like wood sculptures carved by the Venetian icon, is worth a visit. He has built a holiday home in Belluno, Northern Italy where you will find every single item made from wood. Whether it’s the stove, coffee pot, books, teddy bears, umbrella or the cutlery, everything in the house is wooden and one can hardy spot the difference.

Dubbed La Casa del Libro (translates to House of Books), this holiday home has everything done in wood with attention paid to every single detail. The individually carved books on the shelves and the coats hanging in the wardrobe look like the real counterparts and will make you wonder if they are really made out of wood. Inside the wooden house is a full-sized dining table with wooden cutlery and wooden bread. Livio De Marchi is well known for his life-size wooden replicas of luxury cars.
