US Fish and wildlife to be blamed for controversial Trout status

trout

I still remember the row over trout fishing in Yellowstone. The world’s greatest national park that borders Montana, Idaho and Washington offers plenty of stuff. Among them is the trout : a particular species of fish. Irrespective of what environmental protection groups say, US Fish and Wildlife thinks that trout is not endangered yet.

Initially, the trout seemed to be threatened or endangered species. With the mercury rising and the river temperature rising to as much as 82 degrees, trout is sort of endangered. But, scientists argue otherwise. According to them the rate of decline has slowed. Wade Fredenberg of Fish and Wildlife Service mentioned recently:

Things aren’t going to hell in a hand basket.

However, Steve Kelley of Montana Ecosystems Defense Council mentions:

government likes to play this numbers game with population numbers. You’re still declining and you’ve only slowed the rate and the habitat is in terrible shape

Anyways, there has been a trout advisory issued to the people who are fishing in the Yellowstone area. The advisory applies to the Gardner River below Osprey Falls; Lava Creek below Undine Falls; Lamar River below Cache Creek; all of Slough Creek; Soda Creek below Amphitheater Creek; and Yellowstone River below Seven Mile Hole.

Current situation:

Things are looking a lot better as of now. This controversy has been going on for a while. A court challenge resulted in yet another recent survey of the trout. Some of the environmentalists are saying that the government is engaged in a sort of double play. Steve Kelly is one of them and his thought is already mentioned above.

I think this is totally, completely screwed up. It is evident from the rising heat the trout is endangered. So, the Govt. should take necessary action in order to prevent species extinction.
