Unusual cases where the dead were embalmed to stay in the world of the living

Sometimes even death isn’t capable of keeping us away from those who are loved. Some dead are still residing among us. They still feel the love for them lying there. Let’s have a look at these people.

Wet Mummy

This mummy was found near the city of Taizhou during road construction. Her coffin was flooded with a mysterious fluid. The University of Pennsylvania claims that this mummy is from the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). The eyebrows, skin and hair of this mummy are still preserved. Scientists are not able to say if this preservation is intentional or is just a result of the right environment for mummification. A silver pin in her hair, a ring and an exorcism coin were found on the body of this “wet mummy.”

Vladimir Lenin

This mummy is the most famous “modern mummy” in this world existing in Lenin’s mausoleum in Moscow’s Red Square. Vladimir Ilych Lenin was the leader of the Bolshevik Revolution. He died on January 21, 1924 but the Russian people wanted the body of this great leader to be preserved. So, the government embalmed his body for the future generations.

Eva “Evita” Perón

When this powerful woman died in 1952, Argentina stopped living for the next two days. Arrangements were made to embalm her body as soon as possible. But it was kept as a mystery for 16 years. In 1971, her body was brought back to Spain. Now, she rests in her husband’s hall.

John Torrington

Three sailors set on an adventurous expedition in 1845. But before the expedition came to end, one of the sailors John Torrington died of lead poisoning. He was buried on an island named Beechey. Without any practical embalmment, his body is still intact and well-preserved. He looks sleep and cold even after 139 years. Such a long sleep.

This Italian Sleeping Beauty of the Capuchin Catacombs has been two year old for the last 95 years. Her father was not able to let her go, so he decided to embalm her child with the help of Alfredo Salafia. She still looks so alive with her golden ribbon.

Mummy Juanita (also known as the Inca Ice Maiden and Lady of Ampato)

Unlike any modern or Egyptian mummy, this mummy has been naturally preserved over 500 years in ice. Juanita was a 12-15 year old when she was sacrificed 500 years ago as an offering to god. She is considered the “best preserved mummy ever” as her heart, brain and even blood is intact. Her hair and hands still look those of an alive human.

Saint Bernadette

Her body is not embalmed or preserved by any artificial mean. It is simply incorrupt in its own natural way for more than 100 years. Her body showed some signs of decomposition, so wax was used to give her a natural look. Visitors smell a very soft flowery fragrance around the “Virgin Mary” not a foul smell. She is one beautiful miracle.

There is no difference between life and after life for these people as they are adored by a millions even after death practically.
