Understanding manifold rewards of parenting

manifold rewards of parenting

Parenthood has its advantages and disadvantages. While parents would have to forgo their personal ‘us’ time in order to spend time with their baby, they would find plenty of rewards waiting for them in the long run. If you have just become a parent, then here are some of the biggest rewards that await you as a parent as your kid grows up.

Eyes Filled with Wonder

Most of us tend to get swept up in the rigors of daily life to notice the smaller, more pleasant things in life. It takes a small baby to let us see the world in a different light. That annoying butterfly flittering around in the room suddenly looks like a beautiful fairy come to bless your child. The dandelions you saw in the park every day and took for granted, look all the more beautiful and colorful. And the sky that has been the same way since you were born suddenly tends to look bright and energetic. Hence, it will not be surprising if you realize that tending to your kid’s fascinations and fantasies have made you a kid as well.

Renewed Purpose

Some adults tend to go about their lives without an aim or purpose. A child would change all that. With a child entering the home, the responsibilities of both parents increase manifold, thereby making them more focused on their life and the life of their kid as well. This in turn brings about a feeling of being available wherein the parents feel that their kid needs them to remain focused and stable in life.

Unconditional Love

The biggest reward a parent can ever get is the unconditional love of his/her child. From the moment your baby is born and utters his/her first cry to the time he/she calls your name, from the time you catch his/her hand during his/her first walk to the time he/she leaves for school and from the time he/she finishes his/her studies and steps out into the world to the time he/she brings along a new addition to the family in the form of his/her spouse, a kid’s love for his/her parent would never die. Though you may not see it in their eyes or words as they grow, the love your kids have for you is eternal and is the most powerful experience of being a parent.
