In contrast to European dinosaurs — many of which are found on other continents — very few Asian dinosaurs are found outside the area, as the finds are predominantly Cretaceous with the more or less separated continents.

But, what links North American dinosaurs with their Asian counterparts? Scientists have, impertinently, been searching for the link until recently a dinosaur skeleton confirming a new species provides the answer!

Yes, though found 24 years ago in Montana, a skeleton of a dino has finally been identified as a new species – can also call it a missing-link between North American and Asian dinosaurs.

The fossil was part of about 80 million years old sediment. So, you can well guess what its age is. — It dates back to the early part of the Late Cretaceous Period.

Found about five miles south of Choteau, the dinosaur is nicknamed Cera. The newfound dinosaur would have weighed 30 to 40 pounds and might have walked on two feet, standing about three feet tall.

Ah! This winter, the dinosaur fossil will be displayed in the Museum of the Rockies.
