New Canadian freshwater conservation area announced

In an effort to save the valuable freshwater creatures, Canada sets the largest freshwater conservation area in the world. This area is being set off the northern shores of Lake Superior in Ottawa. This was publicly announced by the Canadian minister Stephen Harper.

This area will be known as the National Marine Conservation area. The closest analogy I can find to this is a reserved forest. Just like animals in the reserved forests find themselves a safe heaven, marine life in the marine conservation area will definitely be in a safe heaven.

Even the former Prime Minister Jean Chretien promised to conserve the area. From the U.S. perspective, the area is located in the upper Peninsula of the state of Michigan. Canada is behind other countries when it comes to protecting the freshwater areas.

More needs to be done in order to save the Freshwater marine life. Currently, the Parks Canada is trying to bring in a balance between the local freshwater fishermen and the freshwater marine life. I hope everything works out.
