Klikr is a Bluetooth LE device that takes the trend one step further.
It is more than a universal remote, which is capable of monitoring all your home electronics by making anything clickable.The smart device can be synchronized with your smartphone through a companion mobile application that supports both iOS and Android devices. According to Klikr founder Antoine Vandenheste, instead of building just another universal remote for smartphone, they actually wanted to enhance the experience.

How does it work?
Klikr can be attached to several devices like the TV, speaker, air conditioner – basically any device that uses an infrared remote control. The accompanying Android/ iOS app, enables users to control these devices through their smartphone. Klikrsticks next to a device’s infrared receiver by means of two sticky, reusable gel pads.
The setup works effectively as long as the user is within approximately 10-meters range. However, if the user receives a phone call, the smart device will automatically pause the functioning of connected appliance. Once the phone call is disconnected, it will again resume specific functions.

This IOT (Internet of Things) device not only provides a convenient way to control items around the house, but also ensures you keep an eye on your house even when you’re away from home. To be precise, Klikr is designed to control all sort of electronic gadgets, including televisions, air-conditioners, speakers, video recorders, CD players, DVD players,BluRay players, Hi-Fi systems and amplifiers. In addition to all these aforementioned appliances, other streaming devices (Roku, Apple TV, Amazon fire TV), setup boxes, satellite receivers and projectors can also be monitored by this single device. Basically, it works with all devices that are operated with an infrared remote control.
From Lego to Kickstarter
The idea for Klikr first came to Antoine and his team in December 2014. It first came as a tiny Lego-shaped design. A design team based in Shenzhen, China has formed a 3D mock-up real device, but making it actually work was a different problem. It uses different chipsets and somehow different Bluetooth specifications to make it actually compatible with all sorts of home electronics. Then, a compatible mobile app was created to make it sync with any smartphone for easily access and functioning. Later, the team launched a Kickstarter campaign and due to their innovative concept and ideas they managed to surpass their initial goal.
