If you have more than one child then your duty becomes more challenging. One of the strenuous tasks for parents is to teach their growing children bathroom manners. From brushing their teeth to shower bath and keeping their bathroom clean can all be made interesting activities if the bathroom is designed in such a way that it looks as like a provoking place. Efficient use of the space using various controlling tools can be of a big help in maintenance of children’s bathroom.

Here are a few tips which will help you in designing and decorating your kid’s bathroom according to his age and choice.

1. Make it a colorful place

Children love bright colors. You can select the favorite color of your child for the walls of the bathroom. You can create a colorful backdrop also. If your child is in his teens then you can go for pastels or neutrals. Consider choices of all children if they are more than one. There must be humidity in the bathroom and can be a hurdle in proper adhering of wall stickers and paints so be careful with their decoration.

2. Provision for plenty of light

Make sure that there is supply of ample natural lighting. None of us like dark areas in our bathroom. Small kids can get hurt in bathroom. Consider it as an important tip and design it such that light falls in abundance. If you can’t provide natural source then use good lights and bright lamps over the vanity that don’t cast shadow.

3. Make easy to access organization

While arranging a kid’s bathroom, keep organization that is easy to access even by small children. Consider easy to reach heights or provide small designer staircase for basin. Allow drawer for each child to keep their belongings and baskets for toiletries, which will help kids keep their bathroom clean and tidy. Use laminated construction sheets for labeling each name to a drawer. Select different designs for each child and label names with a waterproof marker. Keep a plastic kit in each drawer to make it comfortable to keep their stuff uncluttered. It will also help to protect the drawer from gels and toothpastes.

4. Decorated hangings

Children in their teens have more stuff than the small children like hair brushes, clips, barrettes, lip balms and lipsticks, acne cream, hair shampoo, styling gel, jewelry, bands, personal hygiene products and many more accessories. All this stuff can make bathroom look untidy and cluttered if not organized appropriately. A transparent plastic hanging pocket with many pockets placed behind the door can be of a great use for both boys and girls. Don’t forget to keep a decorated plastic dustbin.

5. Provision for bath toy storage

Small kids love to take bubble bath with their toys. You can make their bath a fun time activity with their rubber toys. The water gets inside the toy and takes a lot of time in drying, so provide a mesh net bag to hold these toys after the bath. It will be easy to drain out the left over water inside the rubber ducky and it will provide air circulation to the toy and will help in drying out. You can use the mesh bag with a zip which you can use for washing small clothes in a washing machine. You can place the mesh bag with toys directly into the machine when it is required.

6. Supply a big shower caddy

It is not possible that a brother uses his sister’s floral body wash or fruity shampoo. Neither will a sister like to share his brother’s choice of soaps and pastes. You will have to provide a big caddy instead of few smaller ones which can hold as many bottles of shampoos and shower gels. Keep checking for empty bottles and replace them with new ones to avoid cluttering and untidiness.

7. Need of safety

Be sure that their bathroom has sufficient safety methods reiterate in the design. Vanity cabinet knobs maybe a hazard to your little one if not secured properly. No matter how beautiful it look. Ensure that all harmful chemicals and decorative are far off from the reach of your children.

8. Provision for updating a teenager’s bathroom

As your kid grows up, his tastes and color choice change. Go for temporary accessories that can enlighten your teenager’s mood! Beautiful towels, rugs, a good piece of artwork on the wall can make their bathroom a comfortable place. And they will like to keep it clean and tidy.
