Green Luxury: Top brands promote Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s ‘Home’ in sustainable style

The Gucci Group fashion houses along with Alexander McQueen, Sergio Rossi, Bottega Veneta, and Yves Saint Laurent have announced their support for the unique environmental film “Home”, directed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and produced by Luc Besson and PRR Group (Gucci Parent Company).

Among the major releases due on Environment Day, Home, based on the aerial-photographer-turned-filmmaker’s groundbreaking “Earth from Above” photo project is definitely going to be the main attraction for the event. Home has taken the initiative to show the present condition of the planet through images. It will be shown worldwide on 5th June in 87 countries and will be presented in 14 different languages. You can see this movie in the theater, internet, through DVD and in various public viewing forums in New York, Boston, Paris, London and even in Stella McCartney’s store in West Hollywood.

Green Branding: What’s up for grabs!

In order to promote the movie, Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini has created an eco-friendly $195 T- shirt made from 100% organic cotton and natural dyes in recyclable packaging. You can purchase this T- shirt from Gucci stores worldwide and on Gucci.com website.

The T-shirt is designed incorporating the official movie logo along with “GG” symbol. The names of all countries showcased in the film are engraved on the back. The shirt is available for sale in all sizes for both men and women. The profits generated from the shirt will be donated to Goodplanet.org, a non- profit organization, which was created by Yann Arthus-Bertrand in 2005. The T-shirt comes with a white canvas bag, which is embellished with a gold Home movie logo.

In addition to this Alexander McQueen has designed a $285 organic cotton scarf, which features a dying earth morphed into a skull.

Sergio Rossi will bring an “Eco Pump” shoe made from vegetable-tanned leather and liquid wood.

At Bottega Veneta, people who will purchase items of more than $1,500 from different stores in Paris, Milan, and New York will receive an exclusive tote. On the other hand, fans of Yves Saint Laurent can expect to see eco-friendly T- shirt, tanks and bags made from organic cotton.

The Earth from Above message and values

The exhibition is a unique way of presenting the modern art film, which has been created and assembled with the sole purpose to encourage people to appreciate and value the world in which they live. The message being presented is not only to see the beautiful images but to take certain steps to preserve the planet.
