Matt Meshulam and Zach Dwiel, aiming to cut down on energy consumption, introduces EnerJar. It’s an easy-to-build, domestic device that hands out accurate reading on the power draw of electrical appliances. Mind you, this gadget is the winner of the Greener Gadgets design competition. Four IC chips, 12 resistors and an LED display goes into the making of this DIY project. What you need to do is just connect this gadget to a wall-outlet while the other device needs to be plugged into the EnerJar’s en suited outlet itself.

As it’s still a project, designers wish to reduce the number of components and make the construction easier. Also, this EnerJar corral is a glass jar, which we usually discard. So, it’s a novel way to recycle and lend some usability to glass jars.
