‘Ghosts’ who walked to tie loose ends from their life

<![CDATA[There are stories of ghosts coming back for specific purposes prevalent from hundreds of years back. It has been claimed that most of these came to reveal something. Several instances have seen talked about where the ghost led someone to their murderer.

The Vanishing Ghost

Mamie Thurman was wickedly murdered, her throat was cut, there were gun wounds on her head and the body was bruised. There were a few suspects but due to lack of evidence, no one was convicted. After her murder in 1932, her ghost is seen often, from where her body was recovered. It is said that a woman is seen asking for a hitch from truck drivers and eventually disappears from the seat.

The Intruder

Karen Gregory’s body was found raped and murdered, in her boyfriend’s home in May 1984. Her boyfriend was on a business trip and Karen had not answered his calls for two consecutive days, neither had she gone to work. Her boyfriend informed the police and asked them to check his house.

After two years of the incident, the culprit was found in the neighborhood, he was given a life sentence but eventually died in jail. The new owner of the house noticed a lot of unusual activities in the house. She said that a blurred face appeared behind her in the mirror. Whenever she tried to open the window through which the intruder from the neighborhood had entered the house, the windowpane broke. Someone was heard running in the house as the intruder was chasing Karen, but no one could be seen.

The apparition revealed the truth

Mary Jane Heaster, mother of the a 23-year old daughter was not convinced that the death of her daughter was natural. Her daughter Zona Heaster Shue died under inexplicable circumstances in Greenbrier in the year 1897. Mary had always been suspicious about Zona’s husband Erasmus Stribbling Trout Shue or Edward, a blacksmith who had moved to Greenbrier only a little while ago.

Mary Jane wanted to know the truth desperately; finally Zona’s apparition appeared before Mary and revealed the truth. Zona’s body was unearthed for autopsy and the truth came out, exactly what the apparition had told Mary. Edward had brutally murdered Zona by strangulation and breaking her windpipe. The jury was convinced and sentenced Edward to life imprisonment, however he died in jail just three years later.

The Will

The spirit of James L. Chaffin guided his second son James Jr. to his Will, which was written years before James Sr. died. The spirit appeared in the dreams of James Jr. and revealed the place the Will was hidden. James Jr. discovered the Will and filed a law suit, challenging the forged Will, brought out earlier by one of his brothers who had also died by the time. The jury was convinced and the will revealed by the ghost was honored.

A huge number of people are skeptical about such stories, while there are some who have faith in them. Nonetheless many events like these have led to the criminal.]]>
