Climate claims far fetched in most minds

Optimism is good for health but not to the extent that you deny a major problem that the earth faces, alas, that is, exactly what most people are suffering from, a misplaced optimism about climate changes and global warming.

The Ipsos Mori, one of the largest research organizations in the UK, that took a poll of 2,032 adults interviewed between 14 and 20 June found 56% believed scientists were still questioning climate change.

Sir David Read of the Royal Society is quoted to have said:

People should not be misled by those that exploit the complexity of the issue, seeking to distort the science.

The split was found to be most marked not between believers and non-believers but between those who recognize the need to do something and those who have a more passive response. They are a bit concerned by climate change but they think it has been exaggerated and over-hyped.

People were found to be more concerned about national problems of crime, immigration and the NHS. Even local issues such as traffic, litter, graffiti and even dog mess registered higher than climate change.

Forget scientists and politicians, just look around you, are seasons coming bang on time? Did you see all your favorite garden birds this year? It’s rather hot this year is it not? Think about the answers and then you will know whether the climate change is for real or not!
