The house is said to be 30% more energy efficient than the traditional. The i-house incurs a monthly energy cost of only under $70. The house consists of a smaller i–house and a larger one. The smaller i-house costs $74,900 with area coverage of 723 square feet. It accommodates one bedroom and one bathroom only. The larger i-house costs $93,300, with area coverage of 1,023 square feet. It comes with two bedrooms and one bathroom. Both the houses can be configured in at least seven different ways depending on three flex structures and different sizes of porches. The exterior and interior of the house too are attractive.

The aesthetics

Not only is this a contemporary design, it also features solar panels, a rainwater catchment system, high-end “low e” windows, a tank less water heater, low-flow faucets, easily renewable bamboo flooring and a host of other energy-saving features. Since i-house’s building process leads to less scrap as compared to its traditional counterparts, there is enormous cost saving which is passed on to the buyer.
