Busy moms Sneaky fitness routine

Fitness has become an essential part of everyone’s life. Keeping fit is not only healthy but it has also become a trend. To stay in shape, moms need not go to a gym or take out some extra time from their busy schedule. Moms can sneak into a fitness routine even they are packed with responsibilities of their household or children. To fit some fitness activity in your daily regime with your kids is a much convenient way of shedding those extra pounds and having fun at the same time. Following is the list of a sneaky fitness regime for all the busy moms.

1. Hiking

A hike in the woods or hills is highly appreciable, if your children are aged above 5 years. To make hiking exciting, ask your children to pick up some things which they find along their way. If you are adventurous enough, let your kids collect few creepy crawlies along with other leaves, flowers, stones or sticks. Impart your knowledge of flora and fauna to your kids while hiking. Hiking can burn up to 480 calories per hour but if you bend down on those steep ways to pick up stuffs while walking, it could be more beneficial and is likely to burn more calories.

2. Exercising with kids

If you are a new mother and has no time to even think of exercising, do not worry as lifting your baby in your arms all day long can be no less than lifting weights. The idea of exercising with the baby is more like interval training where you need to revolve around cardio and strength sessions. This type of training also keeps the metabolism of the body high without exhausting your muscles. If you have children with whom you can run and play, it may be an advantage to your sneaky workout.

3. Pedometer

Every new mom should get her own personal pedometer which is a great inspirational tool for fitness. As it keeps the count of how much did you walk or run per day, you will surely feel proud at the end of the day. In the initial stage, you have to be patient enough to see the results of weight loss but eventually you will feel the effect of your perseverance. Also, try to follow some simple steps such as take stairs instead of elevators, park your car at a distance from your entrance and instead of using a stroller, try to wear a baby carrier.

4. Pilates swimming

It is a natural way for the mothers to play with the baby or sometimes imitate their moves.Try to lie on your stomach and do some Pilates swimming moves along with your little ones. While doing Pilates, make sure to keep your head and neck straight while raising your hands and legs. Do not forget to watch your baby too while exercising. Pilates swimming is good stretching exercise.

5. Play dates

Set up play dates with your friends and their children. Plan the play dates outdoors like museums, parks or some open spaces. You can have your regular chat without any compromises while your kids can have fun playing outdoors. This way you and your children can both stay physically active and in good shape. If you are not able to arrange for play dates, you can take your kids out to play and meet other children in the public places. You can also accompany them for school tours or picnics.

6. Household chores

As a mother, there are hundreds of things to do in your home. If your kids are grown up, you may avoid using your maid’s help to keep your home clean and do all the chores by yourself. As they say, self help is the best help. You can also be able to save those dollars paid for house keeping. Without spending anything or should we say by saving, you can get a fabulous workout for your body. If your children are a bit older, you can allow them to help you in cleaning too. Activities such as mopping or scrubbing can help to burn as much as 100 calories in 30 minutes. Therefore, you can make your home more beautiful as well as workout at the same time.
