Britain’s hotter summers raising fears of more malaria and skin cancer-incidents

the summer in britain are getting hotter 9It has been well known for years, courtesy the scientists, that global warming could lead to a return of insect-borne diseases across the world.

But, Britain seems to be already experiencing the burns of it. With the sun’s rays getting more scorching across the world, it is not just leading to the growth of malaria, but also, increased incidence of skin cancer. This is warned by a recent government report.

Earlier scientists have already warned that climate change could lead to the rise of heat-related deaths to more than 2,800 a year in Britain itself!

This summer itself, the temperatures in Britain have been forecasted to rise into the high 30s. This may throw Britain in line for at least one extreme heat wave as early as before 2012.

The hotter climates are already giving rise to tick-borne diseases along with other heat-related disease threats.

To avert the global warming’s worst consequences; the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will be releasing several proposals.

They include –
a major expansion of nuclear power,
use of GM crops for boosting bio-fuel production and
reliance on technologies

Leaving on the critics and the scientists to decide on, if the proposals will prove effective in averting global warming, they are sure to kick up intense controversies.
