The way the marvelous and gigantic ice sheets are melting, the ice lands known for their ecstatic beauty might soon be a thing of the past. Global emissions are proving to be a sagging burden on the once stiff and tough ice sheets. Warming has propelled the ice to melt, and with every increase in environment pollution, the burden goes up. It is taking life out of the lands and pushing them toward the door of death, a place of desertion, abandonment, and neglect.
Can we imagine our ice lands to be transformed into desert lands? In a span of just one year, the predictions for the total meltdown of the ice sheets have changed from 2040 to 2012. It means Arctic ice sheet will be gone by 2012 summer, or the Iceland will be deprived of its sublime part i.e. the ice by 2012. What a disheartening scenario for the lovers of nature, and on everyone else’s part this is going to be a destruction and annihilation of the natural scenic beauty.
What are we doing to safeguard it? We are only shattering it and destroying everything that nature gifted us with gallons of poisonous gases into the atmosphere, setting a heat spiral on. The process is raising the world temperatures to a gigantic high, a scenario only starting to reveal itself now. Once ice melts, seas of the world would themselves look a picture of inundation, what to say about coastal lands.
Time to act is now. Time to control ourselves is now. With the ticking of the clock, the warning will take the picture of reality and we will be witness to a picture of disaster – disaster for man, animals, and all life present on earth. Are we ready?
