Arctic ice melting fast, blame global warming

global warming melting ice sheets

Arctic ice is at a tipping point and could soon thaw, thanks to the relentless warming of the atmosphere with soot particles and carbon pollutants.

As the clock ticks every second will be increase the burden on the atmosphere, the result of which is starting to become apparent even today. Time for action and no time to ponder now.

Arctic is thawing and Antarctic too and Greenland is not far behind.

The once towering, sumptuous ice sheets and glaciers that dotted these Polar Regions are soon vanishing, thanks to our uncontrollable lust and relentless poisoning of the environment.

Global warming, as it is commonly known has started to spread its tentacles around the world like a monster. There is nothing natural in it because everything is man-made.

Arctic ice has shrunk by more than 20 percent below the earlier 2005 record low, ending warming and warning signals to the world.

Greenland and Antarctic have shown a similar retreat, and at most places there are signs of sea levels rising to their previous highs. What will happen if the entire ice sheets around the world melt?

Though, such a scenario is not going to happen soon, yet it will not be a late occurrence.

The usual natural flow of the atmospheric circulation is disturbed and so is the environment balance that is soon slanting towards imbalance. Natural cycles like El Nino and Indian monsoon have already dried up and changed their courses and the remaining atmospheric circulation will soon follow suit.

With such a massive shift in environment balance, with more and more carbon emissions into the atmosphere, the overall climate of the world is changing, commonly called climate change and such a disastrous shift in climate heralds a warning to the world to stop choking the environment with warming effects.

We have already spoiled the natural beauty and are now ourselves on the verge of dehydration and submergence.

Yet, our reluctance to control over emissions individually or collectively means havoc for the earth, our only home.
