An environmental appeal by the pope this Christmas

pope
Midnight Christmas from the Vatican came with a strong message for protecting the environment. Pope Benedict XVI condemned human selfishness through the abuse of energy and its reckless exploitation. He referred to an ‘ill-treated world’ because of uncontrolled self-interest shown by most at the cost of the environment.

Pope Benedict and the Vatican have taken the environmental cause to heart. Recently they helped Vatican City go green by paying for its CO2 emissions through purchasing ‘carbon offsets’ credits on the global market.

While Christmas stands for cheer, charity and forgiveness, I think if we all were to carry the little magic with us for long we would succeed in reducing our selfish needs from the environment. So if you did contribute towards creating Christmas garbage, do help in recycling most of it!
