Africa is almost forgotten in climate change battle

Global climate change has become the top priority in UN. Nations are pulling together almost all the resources they have to stop the climate change and save the environment. However, in this battle against time and pollution, one continent has been completely forgotten. Africa seems to be a forgotten continent in the fight against climate change.

The low crop yields as well as water shortages are signals of the continental climate change. The continent faces dire consequences resulting from the climate change. Compared to the developing countries like China and India, Africa has been left behind. Drought is the continent’s biggest problems. Lack of finance resulted in the lack of stable infrastructure in the continent. This part of the world still lacks paved roads, clean water and other basic human needs.

Recently, the UN climate change panel released a 26 page report on Africa as well as the arctic. The report states that by the year 2020, Africans are likely to face an increased water stress. Along with this, some African nations are more than likely to see a 50% reduction in crop yields.

In an effort to save the continent, folks are trying to cut down industrial carbon emissions. I hope they do something about the everlasting drought in this part of the world. If they don’t, Africa will see plenty of things deteriorated by 2020 and the root cause will be climate change.
