8 Gears your baby will live without

It is always fun to buy goodies for your new born baby. Many a times out of mere enthusiasm, parents rush towards every second item as a great buy. Most of the times parents wonder why the baby isn’t interested in something that they have bought and hence they plan on getting more of baby gear that can be of interest. However, if you are a parent who is into a similar situation then a word of advise would be to remain patient. As your baby will grow and develop his/her interests will shift and so will the level of activeness. Most new parents get overwhelmed with baby gear including clothes, toys, etc., but an unreasonable shopping spree will only be a sheer wastage of your money. Instead, it is important to note that there are certain things that a baby just doesn’t need and can happily live without it. Therefore, skipping on the following baby gear can be a reasonable decision.

1. Play gym

At certain occasions play gyms can be all fun and a great distracting medium for your little baby. But you should note that there are many other toys too that are available across the market and are a much cheaper, equally effective substitute to a play gym. Parents can also go creative and tie a play mirror round some table for extra fun.

2. Stick to a single stroller

Decide whether you want to run or just travel normally. Once you have made up your mind, go and buy a running stroller or a normal one that can also be fixed to the car’s seat. You actually don’t have to buy both. A more reasonable decision would be to use a baby carrier when the kids an infant and later buy an umbrella stroller as the baby grows a bit older.

3. Bottle or wipe warmer

Place the feeding bottle in hot water and its all ready within five short minutes. When one required warmer baby wipes, you can even warm them with your hands. Babies don’t often need these items and can stay without them.

4. A cover for the shopping-cart

It can be difficult to place on and take off a shopping cart cover. This can be one of the most difficult things that form a part of marketing in comparison to every other step. If you are germophobe, then a great way would be to use wet wipes so as to clean the seat before placing down your baby in it.

5. Diaper pails

Most parents after buying a diaper pail wish that someone would have told them that this actually wasn’t required. Any regular trashcan with a proper lid can be used as a substitute to the diaper pail. Sometimes using a diaper pail is more of a hassle because it can be difficult to find the right bag that goes along with this. Instead if you use a trash can, you can rest assured about the ease of usage and disposal. To cut down on the smell, you can sprinkle some baking soda around the can.

6. Detergent meant for babies

Baby detergents are all expensive. Instead, one can opt for a dye free detergent that is equally effective, safe and cheap. Dye free detergents make washing simpler as all the clothes can be washed together instead of doing the baby wear separately.

7. Changing table

This piece of furniture just has a single usage around your home and hence it is not that necessary. Parents can instead use a changing pad over the dressers top and here goes the perfect substitute for a changing table. The changing kit can be kept in a bin around the room for proper storage. If its an emergency then the changing pad is the perfect way out with diapers, bags and wipes all well placed for use.

8. A full size high chair

If your home isn’t that spacious to accommodate a full sized high chair then its best not to buy one for practical reasons. Instead, go for portable chairs that can be stuck to a chair and placed around the table. This will serve the same function of letting your baby sit and eat around the table or throw some food on the floor. The best part is that it wont occupy any extra space unlike the conventional high chairs. This will definitely be fun for both you and your baby as you sit and eat together.
