Walking not enough for significant health benefits

People prefer walking to perform a simple, easy and low-intensive form of exercise.

However, walking no longer is contributing to health benefits as reported by a new study. As mere walking does not helps to improve blood pressure and glucose levels of the body.

Rather, traditional fitness programs like treadmills and stationary bicycles proved more beneficial to reduce systolic blood pressure up to 10 percent as compared to 4 percent with walking.

Moreover, overall health may not be obtainable by exercising with both fitness programs and walking.

The information is not meant to discourage people to avoid walking, rather, it aims to motivate people to walk more as a beginner and encourage them to do moderate exercise rather than stick to light exercise.

I think people with any kind of disease or sufferings need to consult a doctor before performing moderate exercises.
