Tips for better health of women

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is going to launch its 4th annual National Women’s Health Week. It will start with National Women’s Check-Up Day, May 15. The HHS says that now women should understand clearly that how important it is to keep their body fit and healthy. The WebMD suggests a list of the highly rated five lifesaving medical tests necessary for every woman.

1. Get yearly blood test for total cholesterol levels. If older than 50, get your C-reactive protein (CRP), homocysteine, and lipoprotein (a) (LP(a)) checked. In case of extra heartbeats, chest pain or breathlessness women should have a stress echocardiogram.

2. Either three years after becoming sexually active or by age 21, women need an annual pap test to detect any abnormal cell changes to prevent cervical cancer.

3. Women aged 40 and older should get a mammogram every one or two years. Women should have an annual medical breast exam by a doctor to be aware of suspicious lumps and bumps.

4. Colonoscopy inspects inside of the entire colon for signs of cancer or polyps or small growths that can eventually become cancerous.

5. Woman, after 18, should start having an annual skin exam by their dermatologist. You should do a skin self-exam too.
