The mixed drinks that are even more harmful than you can imagine

Good or bad news, whatever you may think of it. The message is loud and clear that certain mixes that you considered were fun are actually harmful than you ever thought.

Energy drinks and alcohol

Studies have revealed that the combination is deadly. Alcohol is basically a depressant and the energy drinks contain stimulants like caffeine, ginseng and taurine. The effect of combining a depressant and a stimulant is toxic. There are alcoholic energy drinks available in the market that does a similar damage. The combination makes one feel sober and the person would keep drinking to get the kick. The consequences could be alcohol poisoning and immediate hospitalization. It is utmost foolish to think that a stimulant and a depressant cancels out each other.

Hard liquor and a diet soda

Studies have showed that a diet soda can make you obese. Even if you add alcohol, the fact will not change. The artificial sweeteners in diet soda facilitate faster absorption of alcohol in the body. A study conducted by the North Kentucky University revealed that the people who consumed hard drinks with diet sodas had 18 percent higher alcohol in their blood stream. Sugar on the other hand is said to slow down the absorption of alcohol in the body. It is better to stick with the regular soda than mixing a diet soda in your drink.

Heavy cream drinks

Cookies and Cream Milkshake

Drinks like White Russians, Mai Tais and Pina Coladas contain whole milk, which is good if you want to be obese. So, if you want to gain 500 calories in a single drink, six ounces of White Russian will do the trick. For some people the concept of milk in their alcohol is atrocious. Others who still want a milky taste can try drinks with coconut water.

Tonic Water

You never thought that this one would be in the list, right? If you add a regular soda in your drink the amount of calories and sugar that you intake are the same when you add tonic water to it. Generally, people regard club soda and tonic water as the same, which is not the case. You will get 32 grams of sugar in 12 ounces of tonic water, why not opt for club soda instead.

The tonic water, diet soda, cream, red bull all these are popular and common mixes with alcohol, it’s high time to switch over unless you want to deteriorate your health.
