People with gastric bypass most likely to develop kidney stones!

Patients with gastric bypass surgery are more likely to develop kidney stones, according to the researchers at Minnesota’s Mayo Clinic. Researchers believe that gastric bypass surgery brings on some changes in urine’s chemical composition that leads to kidney stones.

To back this fact up various studies have been carried out that proves that people with gastric bypass surgery normally face an increase in oxalate, which is a chemical that increases a kidney stone risk by binding to calcium and leading to decrease in citrate.

It seems researchers are very confident about their new finding. Therefore, it becomes necessary to keep on consulting doctor after undergoing gastric bypass surgery to keep away from developing kidney stones.
